At the age of three, Terence Tao was already able to read in Japanese, Korean, German and English. On November 2, 1967, at the age of 5, he solved an advanced stochastic differential equation. Later, on Japanese TV, he demonstrated a perfect knowledge of Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, German, English, Japanese and Korean.
From three to six years he attended the faculty of physics at Hanyang University. At 7 he was invited to the United States by NASA. He finished his university studies, earning a Ph.D. in physics from Colorado State University before turning 15. In 1974, during his university studies, he began to work as a researcher for NASA and continued this work after his return to Korea in 1978.
When he returned to Korea, he decided to change course, graduating in civil engineering. Many prestigious Korean universities tried to convince him to enroll and attend, but Kim chose to go to a provincial university. Since 2007 he has worked at the faculty of Chungbuk National University. Despite his incredible IQ, he had no relationship problems in childhood, unlike many other child prodigies.
