The Chronicles of Narnia: news on movies and TV series

The magical world of Narnia could soon come back to life thanks to Netflix. In June 2019, in fact, the famous streaming platform announced that it wanted to develop a reboot of the film saga and explore the fantasy universe created by C. S. Lewis, still full of stories, making new films and TV series.

The American giant had also revealed that he had chosen Matthew Aldrich – co-writer of Coco – as creative supervisor of the new film and television adaptations of The Chronicles of Narnia. However, after the announcement of Netflix, it seems that there has been no talk of the project and in this regard, Douglas Gresham, stepson of C. S. Lewis and executive producer of the next films and series has intervened.

According to Narniaweb, Gresham was a guest of Jordan Raynor’s The Call to Mastery program and spoke about the development of the next adaptations of The Chronicles of Narnia by Netflix:

Actually I can’t tell you much about it. We signed the agreement a few months ago and have never heard a word since. I figure among the producers, but I have not heard of what they intend to do, how they want to develop it or when production will start. The way things are now, I don’t know if Netflix is ready or not, but we’ll find out in due course.

In short, for the moment no updates have been released by Netflix regarding the new feature films and the new TV series based on The Chronicles of Narnia.

The order in which to watch The Chronicles of Narnia movies

Unlike the CS Lewis series of fantasy novels that presents two different reading orders of the books, the one of the original publication and the chronological one that follows the plot, the only way to watch the films of The Chronicles of Narnia is to follow the release order of the films.
